Sparta Advertisements, Holland, 1967
Dutch motorcycle and mopeds manufacturer Sparta released in 1931 its first moped, which was equipped with a 78 cc engine. In the 50's Sparta became the biggest mopeds manufacturer in Holland. They used the two-stroke ILO, Sachs and Villiers engines on their mopeds. In the mid-70s the moped-sales in Holland dropped dramatic because the helmet became a legally obliged item, and in 1982 Sparta stopped making mopeds. Today they still produce bikes, only without an engine.
