'DUG IN' BEEMER
No, these pictures are nót shot in the middle of France! I just took my G/S last weekend to Amsterdam-Westpoort. This Amsterdam harbour area used to be a motocross heaven with big open fields full of moto-cross bikes racing on dirt tracks. Nowadays that's all gone and the site is totally packed with huge square hangars of different compagnies... until I noticed this desolated spot with probably the last 'semi' field-roads. By the heavy rains the day before, I even got stuck for a moment in a swampy layer of sand and had to dug the bike out. Was fun though!

OE-OE-OEREND HARD
Listen to....
...Oerend Hard, from Normaal, Holland, 1977
Dutch band Normaal started in 1974, singing slang of the east part of Holland. Proud of being called 'farmers' they adore this image. The first big hit they produced was this song, a story about two guys speeding on a BSA and a Norton, going to watch the motocross races, and have a lot of fun. 'But driving too fast and drinking too much beer, unfortunately they will come to their end...' Oerend Hard (Speeding F#cking Fast) is thé number one classic motorcycle song of Holland.
